"Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." - Isaiah 41:10 NIV
Each of us goes or has gone through struggles that really challenge our faith in God. Whether it be a personal struggle or circumstance or what we see and experience through other
s pain, life can be difficult. The product of such hurts can leave you broken and your faith crushed.
On Sunday, January 21st Pastor Jay preached an encouraging message from 1 Kings 19 where we see God speak to the prophet Elijah. God's word and comfort though doesn't come in the way Elijah thought it would. Rather than showing up in the spectacular or in grand fashion, God spoke in a whisper. The whisper was an indication of his closeness to Elijah and to us. It was God reminding Elijah that he is not far but close enough to speak directly into his ear, into his innermost heart.
God does the same for us. He speaks closely and directly. It is our job to listen and be attentive to the whisper.
Remember the advice and instruction of Pastor Jay this week as you go through the busyness of your week.
1. Wake each morning thanking God for 5 things
2. Once a week, celebrate someone with your words and/or actions
3. Help someone in need
4. Spend time with God everyday by being in the Word. Develop holy habits
5. Pray for someone each day
Remember God is with you...be attentive to his instruction, listen for the whisper, and act in confidence and strength.
Be well and be with Him!
