Awaken Church, today is Tuesday, September 25th. Our devotion for today comes from Jeremiah 17:7, Romans 8:28, and Proverbs 3:5.
Jeremiah 17:7 says, "Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord." Blessed means to be made holy or consecrated. Consecrated means to declare for divine purpose. When we trust in the Lord we have confidence in knowing He goes before us and that His plans are set for us. He goes before us and He "declares" His righteousness. We have to put Him first in all we do and trust Him so that the confidence that comes from knowing the Father will be set before us as a guide and comfort. You are blessed because He goes before you and His ways are always for you, never against. You are blessed because you are set apart as a Christian. Christ died for you and He loves you. Trust in the Father's love.
Romans 8:28 says, "And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose." Someone can say they love the Lord but only those who know Him and have relationship with Him love Him. They are not deceived by their own righteousness but live under the righteousness of God. We love Him by having relationship with Him. God has called you, set you aside, for a special thing and that thing begins with knowing the Father and loving Him. Would you seek after Him? Would you commit your life to Him and make a decision to follow Him? Love is a commitment, love is a promise. God established and fulfilled His promise to us through the cross and He reaffirms it daily in our life. What about you? How are you reaffirming your relationship to the Lord?
Lastly, Proverbs 3:5 says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding." Many people fail to trust and follow after the Lord because they don't understand the nature, the character, the love of the Father. Scripture tells us though to stop leaning on your own self and begin leaning on the Lord. Stop trying to live life for yourself and instead begin leaning into the presence of the Lord. Put your trust, your promise, your hope in the one that knows the future, knows the way you are to go, and whose love is complete. He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5) because His love will never fail.
Trust is a powerful force that so many in this world have given up on. Let trust be the foundation of our hope in the Lord. Trust in Him. He will never fail you! Read Jeremiah 17:5-13. Read, reflect, and apply to your life.
Trust in the Lord Always!
