The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
- Lamentations 3:22-23 ESV
What an incredible promise. The love, the steadfast love of the Lord, never ceases. Never! God loved you the same yesterday as He does today. Regardless of the day before you, God loves you. I am so thankful to know that my God loves me. Though I am unworthy of His love, though I have no earthly claim to His love, He STILL loves me! Not because of anything I did but because I am His. Wow, what an incredible God we serve!
Today is a new day. Yesterday is gone. Does the effects of the day still weigh heavy on your heart? Maybe so, sometimes it's hard to forget. Take comfort in acknowledging the newness of today though. Pray today that the Lord would make himself known to you and you will serve Him to the best of your abilities.
Some suggestions that might help point you in the direction of service.
1. Give God the best part of your day. Are you a morning person? If you are, you're weird! (Just kidding) Lol. I'm a morning person. :) I should give God the first of my day through reading and prayer because this is when I am most attentive and full of energy. If you are a night owl, set aside time each evening to spend time with God. The time is not as important as the priority behind spending time with Him. Spend time with Him and give Him your best.
2. Do something for someone else today. Doing good, in the name and service of the Lord, is good for the spirit. Treat others today as the Lord Jesus would treat them. Look for opportunities to help others in need. Buy someone a coffee, talk with someone in line, or send someone an encouraging message. Don't join the crowd of isolation. Give the screen time a rest and look up and see the world around you. Step out of your comfort zone and serve.
Today, TODAY, is the day of the Lord! Give Him the best of your day and love others. Love God, love others (Matthew 22:37-40).
Have a blessed day! Remember...the Lord loves you! There is NOTHING you could or can do to take that away. He loves you, period!
